Jury Selection for Donald Trump's Case is Moving at a Snail's Pace | EWTN News Nightly
Today is day 2 of former President Trump's hush money trial. Jury selection is moving at a snail's pace. So far, attorneys have dismissed dozens of potential jurors and have yet to choose one. They are being questioned individually about their ability to fairly decide whether or not Trump will become the first former president convicted of a crime. The former president is charged with falsifying business records to cover up a sex scandal during his 2016 campaign. At the center of the case are payments totaling $130 thousand to an adult film star named Stormy Daniels. Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, admitted in a plea deal, the money was aimed at buying Daniel's silence about the affair she had with Trump more than a decade ago. Trump says he has done nothing wrong. National Jury Consultant as well as CEO and President of Shari Belitz Communications, Shari Belitz, joins to share what her opinion is on the pace of the jury selection. Belitz discusses whether it makes it harder to find jurors for such a high profile case. She tells us what the attorneys in this case are looking for in a juror. Belitz explains how long she thinks jury selection will last.
