In this seminar we will explore various types of cognitive biases which occur during discovery, settlement negotiations and trial, including: the anchoring bias, the availability bias, exposure effect, confirmation bias and the social desirability bias. You will learn how to understand, identify and mitigate each bias.
Part 2: Business and Litigation
Identifying it, Understanding it, and Eliminating it
Unconscious Bias involves stereotypes and automatic judgments humans form about something or someone outside of their conscious awareness. In this presentation we will explore the effect of unconscious bias in the workplace with respect to hiring, marketing/business development, work distribution, and performance evaluations. In particular we will focus on the affinity bias. We will then explore how various types of cognitive biases which occur during discovery, settlement negotiations and trial, including: the anchoring bias, the availability bias, exposure effect, and confirmation bias.
